Paradise Ala kai
Paradise Ala Kai
(Ocean Way Paradise)

Welcome to Paradise Ala Kai, where bliss reigns and memories are made.  From this comfortable home across the street from the ocean you will feel right at home and not want to leave once your vacation is pau (done).  It's not uncommon to see humpback whales pass by during their winter stay in the islands.
This home has three bedrooms, (with a queen, a full and two twin beds), 2 full baths and plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the views from either the windows or from the generous covered lanai that stretches across the front of the house.
The main living area is bright and comfortable with views out to the ocean.  Paradise Ala Kai comes with satellite TV, DVD and CD players so bring your favorite Hawaiian music and the scene is complete.

This kitchen is complete with everything you need including the very hawaiian and always used rice maker.  Go to any local restaurant or home and you will be served rice with any meal, even breakfast! Tired of the stove?  Use the barbeque instead.

Very few homes in east Hawaii are air conditioned. The reason is you don't need it, just open the windows and let the trade winds off the ocean keep you cool and comfortable.

The dining area is just off the kitchen with a useful pass through for food and dishes.  This is a good table to spread your maps and guide books out on to plan your adventures.  From here you are centrally located in the Puna district so you can easily drive into Hilo and up the Haumakua coast for one trip, drive up to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for another or head southeast to Kapoho for some outstanding snorkeling.  If you like hiking there is a great little hike just a couple of miles away known locally as Shipman Beach. Be sure and ask us for details about this little gem.
The master bedroom has a gorgeous view from the bed out through a sliding glass door to the ocean. Besides having a very comfortable bed this room comes equipped with satellite TV and has it's own private bath.

Here's where you'll be spending a lot of your time. The view is all ocean from here. Sit and enjoy the blue blue water and daydream or look for the spray from passing whales. We might even tell you where the good fishing is.

At the other end of the lanai is another dining or game table. Eating out on the lanai with the ocean in front of you is a soothing experience.  A breakfast of fresh papayas, local bananas and pineapple is a great way to start the day.  A fresh salad or sandwiches for lunch and a candle lit dinner with something from the barbeque makes for memorable times.

Here is the view looking out from the lanai. Ahh, you can feel the stress draining already.
